I lived with a psychopath for fifteen years. After the honeymoon phase where everything was just perfect, he began to change slowly… or, to be more accurate, he slowly started to show me the real him, right under the mask of the perfect husband I thought I had.
I had no idea you could have a psychopath for a partner. I thought psychopaths were the crazy guys you hear about on the news, or guys you enjoyed watching while they killed, choped up—and yes, sometimes ate—their victims during your favorite TV show.
I was totally unprepared for the ride. I had no idea this was a common problem (there are more psychopaths, sociopaths and narcissists than you can guess), and once I realized it was a problem, I had no idea how to proceed.
Why aren’t we warned this can happen? Why aren’t people talking about this? Why are abused people shamed? Why does no one know what to do if you’re in that situation?
My goal is to spread this knowledge and give victims of psychopaths the keys to find a way to escape from their abusers.
I will be writing about psychopaths, giving insight into their twisted minds, giving tips for the victims who are looking for ways to understand the abuse they’re living, and who want to leave, and I’ll be telling my story, bit by bit.
Thank you for reading!
